Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town Joins Hands with Compassionate Forces to Aid Myanmar Earthquake Victims, Donating 40 Prefabricated Homes\n\n\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0During the June annual event, Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town introduced the post-March 28 earthquake relief work in Myanmar carried out by one of our members, the Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association of Taiwan. The effort immediately received widespread attention and response. Through the efforts of the Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association we were able to connect with the Mandalay Yunnan Association in Myanmar. Jointly, we started the emergency shelter project to send help to the victims.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We raised funds for a total of 40 prefabricated homes in a very short time. HHL Buddhist Town Association, together with Macang Foundation, Benevolence Temple, Bodhi Wonderful Dharma Center, International Buddhist Bodhi Association, many members of Buddhist Town, Honghu platform, and kind-hearted donors including Audrey Tang, Xiuzhen Li, Alain Uboldi & Yuhua Chen, Juanlie Luo, Jinyuan Wu, Amy Chiang & Chintao Chen, Julie & Richard Chen, Yuying Lu, Chiawen Liu, Li Liu, Winnie Peng, Danny Chiang, Lizhu Chen, etc., jointly provided urgently needed shelter and basic living arrangements for the disaster victims. Sister Wu of Buddhist Shande Wenxiu Association visited Mandalay herself and presented the Tara Praising Sutra to the victims, bringing them compassion and spiritual support. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For Westerners, it is often difficult to study the profound teachings of His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III. Most of the teachings have not yet been approved for publication. Fortunately, Rinpoche Zhaxi Zhuoma, the Abbess of Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, CA, has access to a preliminary English translation of Expounding the Truth through the Heart Sutra and has been permitted to recite it for her students. Out of her great compassion, she makes the long drive to Holy Heavenly Lake Buddhist Town every month to recite the precious teaching for English speakers. At present, this is the only way Western students can hear this precious discourse.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The August session was held in a cabin by the Holy Heavenly Lake, where participants could enjoy the tranquility of the lake and watch ducks and geese gliding peacefully across the water.
