\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 On February 3, 2011, the World Peace Prize Awarding Council officially announced that the recipients of the 2010 World Peace Prize are H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and Hon. Benjamin A. Gilman, who is a former member of the United States Congress and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Awards will be presented April 2011 (date to be announced) in the U.S. Capitol (Congress of the United States).<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The World Peace Prize is a prestigious award presented by the World Peace Corps Mission. Recipients of the award must have made great contributions to the causes of advancing world peace, including annihilating and preventing war turmoil, reducing famines, promoting the development of humanity, and so on. Past recipients include Ronald Reagan, the fortieth President of the United States; Fidel Valdez Ramos, the twelfth President of Philippine; Abdurrahman Wahid, the fourth President of Indonesia; the President of Tajikistan; the President of Mongolia; the Premier of Cambodia; the King of Tonga; the President of Nigeria; and others.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The news reports from many first-class news organizations in the world including Reuters, Yahoo News, CNBC and others pointed out that H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is recognized for his selfless devotion to a wide scope of healing and rescue-relief activities directed at people from communities throughout the world. His wisdom and benevolence embrace all races, ethnicities, cultures and religions. Wherever he goes, His Holiness brings unity amongst people through his own humility and compassion. His Holiness is also a distinguished artist. Through his teachings and practices, art and poetry, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has pointed out a bright path of non-violence, charity and love for humanity. His Holiness has been the recipient of numerous awards including the United States Presidential Gold Award for his outstanding contributions to arts, medicine, ethics, Buddhism and spiritual leadership, and to American society.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The award of the World Peace Prize to H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is not only an affirmation of His Holiness\u2019 lofty noble moral character of serving living beings heart and soul by the entire world, but also an honor to us all Buddhist disciples in the world. Moreover, the announcement of such great news being made on this day of Chinese New Year of Xin-Mao also implies a very wonderful and magnificent causation. We should all spread this extremely good news to benefit living beings. Let\u2019s all regard H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as our role model and do all we can to benefit living beings.<\/p>
