Dorje Chang Buddha III<\/a>, have been continuously and actively engaging in Buddhist acts of compassion and kindness. The most recent activity is the \u201cCharitable Acts to Benefit Our Community Together: 2025 Food and Goods Drive\u201d. This event aimed to support those affected by the devastating California wildfires, notably the Eaton Fire.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Due to the rampant wildfires in California, the Holy Miracles Temple and Jen Chen Buddhism Sanger Mission locations fell within the area impacted by the Eaton Fire. Ensuring their safety first, the temple quickly mobilized support from various sectors, calling for donations of supplies and dedicating themselves to community care. Throughout January, they led multiple rounds of donations, delivering supplies such as food and household necessities to fire shelters and resource centers. They also provided pet food and supplies to animal shelters, offering immediate assistance to those affected by the wildfires and to non-profit rescue organizations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 On February 20, volunteers from the Holy Miracles Temple and Jen Chen Buddhism Sanger Mission provided charitable goods to Pasadena Humane and White Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The recipient organizations appreciated the temple\u2019s charity and public welfare efforts and the Jen Chen Buddhism Sanger Mission. Ashton Hardin-Artiga from the White Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church noted the positive impact of these donations, especially during challenging times, and highlighted the value of collaborative efforts in supporting communities.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Kim Burbank, Pasadena Humane\u2019s Philanthropy Manager, acknowledged the temple\u2019s role in initiating the charitable donation, expressing her gratitude for the support provided. She emphasized the significant impact that community donations have had on their ability to assist in the aftermath of the Eaton wildfire. Since the onset of the fire on January 7, Pasadena Humane has successfully housed over 1,200 animals and helped reunite nearly 2,000 animals with their families, thanks to generous contributions from local supporters. Burbank thanked the temple and its supporters for their compassion, noting that their contributions helped rescue and care for animals who could not care for themselves during such a challenging time. This collaborative effort was vital in assisting animals to receive the necessary shelter, care, and resources during the disaster.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 During the donation drive, many generous individuals and residents contributed various essential items, resulting in many donations. These included food items such as pasta, breakfast cereals, peanut butter, ready-to-eat salad packs, instant rice, baby food, and protein shakes. The general supplies included toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, lotion, diapers, and pillows. In addition, there were several units of pet food, both bagged and canned, along with animal supplies such as cages, toys, blankets, towels, scratching boards, pet beds, and dog collars. The temple organized the supplies according to the needs of different recipient organizations to help effectiveness.<\/p>

The temple expressed its ongoing commitment to promoting charitable efforts and fostering a spirit of care. It encouraged others to join in to provide consistent support to those in need.
