Answer 31 On Day 31 of the Lunar year

Regarding Presenting a Petition to a Bodhisattva, the first thing is to see the subject of the petition. For example, is it about establishing an Inner-tantric Mandala? Is it about the holy selection of a particular Dharma? Or is it about determining whether a specific mantra or discourse is upright or evil? Based on the subject of the petition, at least a non-retrograde Bodhisattva is invited to perform the determination by holy selection. For instance, Maitreya Bodhisattva or Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva may come to accept the petition. The Greatly Holy Guru stands at a distance far away; the petition paper written in public is placed on a table before the disciples. Right after the disciples have chanted “Om Ah Hom,” the petition document will transform into a rainbow to fly into the sky and disappear. Such a holy state proves that the Holy Selection content is accepted, and everything is done correctly. If the presented petition does not transform into a rainbow and fly away, then it means that the Bodhisattva does not approve it and therefore has not taken the petition document. That is, the Yidam, who is a Buddha or Bodhisattva, does not accept the petition paper; it means it is incorrect or evil.
